SAGA Construction believes in constructing environmentally sustainable homes. We are experienced in Energy Star building and use a number of “System Vision” building practices. Our conservation begins by minimizing material waste at our job sites. Unused materials are allocated for future construction on your project, or they are returned to material suppliers.

Our goal is to build an air tight home with effective placement of insulation to ensure the most energy efficient results. SAGA selects eco-friendly materials that fall within the budgets of each home we build. These products include trusses, siding, energy star appliances, low-e windows, water heaters, HVAC systems and light sensors.

Building environmentally sustainable homes makes good sense for the consumer and for our environment. We are happy to research and price all eco-friendly building materials of interest to you and we have included several new features in recent homes.

Energy Star: A home must meet strict guidelines for energy efficiency set forth by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. These homes are at least 15% more efficient than homes build to the 2004 IRC - International Residential Code. They include additional energy-saving features that make them 20-30% more efficient on average than standard homes.

SystemVision: A North Carolina initiative, designed by building science specialists, to bring their knowledge and expertise to building energy efficient affordable housing for the local population. Launched in 2001, the mission of Advanced Energy’s Affordable Housing Program is to provide improved health, safety, durability, comfort and energy efficiency to affordable homes statewide.
